This statement comprises the Privacy Policy (“The Policy”) of oikos Consulting (“oikos Consulting”/“we”/“us”/“our”/”oC”).
Please, read this policy carefully to understand how oikos collects, stores, and uses your personal data.
Sharing Information between oikos Team Members
oC might share your personal data with oikos local chapters, if these chapters host oikos regional, international or annual events or in connection with their activities related to oikos vision and mission.
We might receive your personal data from oikos local chapters, if you are part of our local group. This data is used to provide updates about oikos community, invite you to our international events and maintain information on our network members.
Disclosure of Personal Data
At oC, we will never sell or rent, nor will we share your personal data with third parties unless we have your explicit permission, or are required to disclose the information in the following circumstances:
- as set out in this Privacy Policy
- when we are required to do so by law
- to protect the security or confidentiality of the data
Access to Personal Data
You have the right to access your personal data. You may request at any time a copy of the information we have on you by sending an e-mail to hello@oc.oikos-international.org. You may also request to update or delete your data from our database (Please, note that any request is a subject for individual consideration, and we might not be able to delete your data if we are required to keep it by law). Any such request is processed free of charge. We will do our best to reply to your email within seven working days.

We use cookies to recognize repeat use of our website by the same user/internet connection subscriber, it helps us analyse and administer the website. This is done in order to personalise and enhance your experience with us.

Webforms
On our webpage we use webforms to register or select participants for our annual events, activities and webinars. These webforms are powered by WPForms or Notionforms. The data collected is stored on our Ionos Account, G Workspase Account and Notion Account.
The webforms ask you as a prospective participant to provide personal data, as well as details on your professional and academic experience, if it is necessary for the evaluation.
We might also ask you to provide information on your gender, place of residence, level of education. These information is used to ensure diversity among our participants.
Optional questions might include information on dietary restrictions or special requirements. These information is solely used to provide best possible experience to our participants.
In certain cases we might ask specific questions to evaluate participants critical thinking and analytical skills.
The data thereby collected is solely used to evaluate, select and communicate with participants.
By submitting your application to us, you consent to the terms of this Policy.
Photography and Videography
We may collect your photographs and you might appear on our videos if you take part in one of our events, activities or webinars. Our chapters might also provide your photographs if you participated in one of their events or activities.
Emails, Postal and In-person Submissions
We may collect information provided by you through emails or postal correspondence. We might also gather information when you provide us with your business card or give oral consent to use your personal data for further communications with you or for any other predetermined reason.
Other Data Collection Activities
We might collect your information when processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by oikos Consulting and only when your fundamental rights and freedoms do not override such interests.
We might gather your personal data from publicly available sources if we have legitimate reason (as manifested through your professional commitments and/or interests) to believe that you would be interested in:
- Learning about oikos Consulting and connecting to our organization
- Attending one of our events as a speaker or panelist
- Donate to our cause or otherwise support oikos in pursuing its mission
Buttons and Widgets connecting to our Social Media Accounts
Clicking those buttons or widgets that transfers you to our social media accounts may share IP address with the relevant social media platform. Data transmitted is stored by these social media platforms. On these platforms we are registered as another user, therefore the privacy policies as well as the terms and conditions of those platforms are pertinent.

- Notifications and/or invitations to our events
- Request to donate, contribute or otherwise support our work
International Data Transfers
In most cases, we do not transfer your personal data outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area (EEA). But we operate globally, some of our employees and volunteers are based outside Switzerland and the EEA, and our local chapters take lead on organising some of our annual, regional or international events. These may require a transfer of certain personal data to countries outside Switzerland and the EEA which do not provide an adequate level of data protection as required under Swiss and EU data protection laws. However, our employees and affiliates are obliged to follow standards set out in this Privacy Policy, as well as in the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant legislature.
When you make donations or payments with “PayPal” through our website, “PayPal” may transfer or store your data outside Switzerland and the EEA countries in line with its Privacy Policy.
Our other third party providers, such as Notion, and Google may also transfer or store your data outside Switzerland and the EEA countries, however in each case protection of your personal data is guaranteed by these providers. Please, refer to the next section of the Policy to learn more about security measures in place within these third party providers.
Security
We use reasonable precautions to protect your Personal Data, to store and use it securely.
Our website has a secure SSL certificate. The SSL Certificates are small data files that digitally bind a cryptographic key to an organization’s details. When installed on a web server, it activates the padlock and the https protocol and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser.

No security measure is perfect and the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. We will do our best to protect your personal data, but any transmission is at your own risk.
